Croftons housing and regeneration team has been ranked as the best in the North West in a prestigious legal services directory.
The 2016 Chambers UK guide, which assesses the UK’s best law firms and lawyers based on location and practice area, ranked Croftons in Band 1 for services to the social housing sector in the region – the highest accolade available.
Writing in the guide, Chambers UK said: “Croftons’ full-service social housing team represents over 40 social landlords as well as other groups and related organisations. They are noted for advising on major development schemes and for its strong housing management practice.”
The annual directory is put together following extensive investigative research, including in-depth client interviews, and ranks firms based on business growth, sector expertise and client feedback. Croftons’ clients were quoted as saying “When we talk to them, they know what we want. They’re very responsive”, “They have good, rounded resources and are really approachable” and “They’re good at relationship management, and they have a very personal service.”
Croftons’ Managing Partner, Simon Leighton said: “This top ranking recognises our strong reputation in the housing sector, and is a really positive endorsement of the quality of our service, based on genuine feedback from our many long-standing clients in the sector. Our vision is to be the number one legal provider to the housing sector in the region, and our top position in this year’s Chambers directory is another key step on that journey.”
“It’s a further milestone in what’s been a great year for Croftons. Over the last 12 months we’ve attained the Investors in People Gold accreditation, expanded our team and service offer, and started working with a number of great new clients in the housing sector.”
The directory also highlights ‘notable practitioners’ who are recognised as legal experts and leaders in their field. Two of Croftons’ senior team – Housing Management Partner Melanie Dirom and Property Partner Arthur Chapman – were ranked in this year’s guide.
Quoting feedback from clients, Chambers UK said:
“Arthur Chapman has “a lot of inherent knowledge, skills, experience and a clear understanding of the needs of social landlords.” Clients praise the fact that “he always has time for us” and describe him as “very responsive.” With over 25 years’ experience, he is a well-known and established housing sector property practitioner.”
“Melanie Dirom is “great with clients” and “really knows her stuff.”
Dirom founded the firm’s housing management department, and has experience across all aspects of social housing litigation.”
