Claire Hogan-Clark, who joins as a Legal Executive, previously worked in the in-house legal team at Merseyside-based housing association Liverpool Mutual Homes, specialising in tenancy enforcement and driving the social landlord’s legal response to anti-social behaviour.
Rebecca Aspin joins us as a Trainee Solicitor, also coming from an in-house legal team at another North West housing association, Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, where she gained extensive experience in a wide range of complex legal matters relating to housing and leasehold management. Rebecca is due to qualify as a solicitor in 2017.
Both Claire and Rebecca will work alongside Croftons’ Housing Management Partner, Melanie Dirom, who heads up our specialist housing management and tenancy enforcement team.
Melanie said: “As a specialist housing and regeneration firm, housing associations are one of the key target markets for Croftons. Expanding our team with two sector specialists with many years’ experience of working in-house in registered providers’ legal teams further cements our unrivalled insight and understanding of the sector, and the many issues and challenges affecting landlord and tenants. Bringing the direct sector experience that Claire and Rebecca have to Croftons will only improve the support we provide to our 50-plus housing association clients.”
With a number of new legal tools now available to housing associations and other social housing providers, Croftons is at forefront of making trailblazing use of legislation to deliver successful outcomes for clients in complex and high profile cases.
“Our clients work hard to support their tenants to maintain their tenancies,” continues Melanie. “But when issues escalate firm action needs to be taken using the most effective and appropriate legal tool. Claire and Rebecca’s expertise and experience will help us support clients to achieve that.”
